Ballroom and Latin American
Ballroom dance is a style of partner dance which originated in the western world and is now enjoyed both socially and competitively around the globe. Its performance and entertainment aspects are also widely enjoyed on stage, in film, and on television.

The Standard Ballroom style describes the Waltz, Tango, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz, whereas the Latin American style includes the Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. The variety of styles here makes Ballroom and Latin American a good place to start if you’d like to learn some dancing, but don’t really know which style is for you yet.

Ballroom and Latin are traditionally social dances, where you dance for your own pleasure and to meet people, but they also have a popular competitive side known as Dancesport. If you watched the BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and want to learn the sort of choreography you saw on the show, then Dancesport is what you’re looking for. Private lessons are available upon request.
