Dance in Education

ElliTe Studios children's dance classes combine classical technique and theatre dance with more up-to-date styles such as street dance, hip hop, and break dancing.

We also supply teachers for nurseries, schools and colleges, either on a weekly / monthly basis, or for a one-off workshop. See our Community section for details of our Schools Workshops.

The emphasis in our dance classes is on fun and enjoyment, as this creates the right atmosphere for effective learning. Our programme is aimed at performance and optional examinations, and children will receive certificates of achievement and have the opportunity to perform what they have learned in shows and festivals.

Children not only benefit from the physical aspects of the dancing lessons, which builds stamina, good posture, co-ordination and flexibility - but dance has all the ingredients to develop confidence and self-esteem through a sense of achievement. This leads to enhanced motivation, as well as the development of personal and social understanding and skills. Learning to dance also enhances cognitive skills, such as literacy, communication, memory, problem-solving, and learning. It is an excellent outlet for creativity and self-expression, which is done in a safe and supervised environment.

The benefits of learning from a professional dance company, is the quality of the tuition - we constantly audition dancers who aren't successful due to poor and inadequate training when they were young. Even if it is done just for enjoyment it is crucial to get the right training for the child's physical development and injury prevention in later life.

All our teachers are highly trained in various dance disciplines and have been checked and cleared by the CRB.
